The Birthplace of Charles de Gaulle is a French museum located in Lille, Nord, France. Previously, the museum was the home of Charles de Gaulle's maternal grandparents, where he was born in 1890. Property of the Charles-de-Gaulle Foundation, the house is currently managed by the Departmental Council of the North. Opened to the public in 1983, it has been listed as a historical monument since 1989 and has been part of the Maisons des Illustres label since 2011. Located at 9 rue Princesse, in the Old Lille district, the museum welcomes between 19,000 and 20,000 visitors each year.
