FORSOOK EARLY This new melon has been grown sideby side with all other early sorts, andhas proven itseTf to be the earliest ofall. We have n<xd early melons of goodquality but this is the first extra earlywatermelon of fine quality that is alsoof largesize. From seed planted on thetenth day of May, large, ripe melonswere picked the last day in July, xhuseven in the past unfavorable season,demonstrating its inbred character ofmaturing extra early. As shown in the illustration, theform is nearly round. The averageweight of the melons, even during thisexceptionally bad season, was thirty-five pounds each—a. size rarely attainedby any other extra early melon underfavorable conditions.
