An iron pipe can be smoothlybent by laying it in a fitted groove ofthe block over which it is turned, andif the bending pressure is applied bymeans of a grooved roller, so muchthe better. The above are only men-tioned in passing, but the bending ofa brass pipe neatly is the snare of theunsuspecting and joy of the goodworkman, when successfully accom-plished. The usual way to bend a brass pipeis to fill it with dry sand or resin (notquite full), close both ends and pour.
