School Safely Patrol—Frenchtown Public School A Supervisor of Transporta-tion on a part-time basis is pro-vided in paragraph (L) of Sec-tion 7, Chapter 152, SchoolLaws of 1949. The duties ofthis office consist of auditingtransportation claims for Statereimbursement, register ingschool buses, administering thesafety program, the school busdriver training program and act-ing as adviser to transportationcontroversies. The work of this division ofthe State Department of PublicInstruction involves meetingsand hearings in communitiesand counties with school offi-cials and county transportationcommittees to assist in the solu-tion of duplication problemsand greater efficiency in the transportation program. Bus driver training schools are held in coun-ties to promote safety and procedures in handling of groups of school children and the care of theschool bus.
