View NE of an incised Class I Pictish symbol stone re-erected inside Broomend of Crichie Neolithic circle-henge, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UK. The undressed grey granite stone with a diagonal white stripe is incised with a leaping muscular Pictish beast (elephant symbol) above a crescent and V-rod. The stone may be one of the standing stones of the prehistoric ceremonial complex re-used in Early Christian times around 600AD. It was removed from a bank some 50m to the N of the henge & re-erected near its centre in the C19th when stone was being taken from the site for railway balast.
