It is a section very like the one justpassed, but on a grander scale, showing a straight cutalong the mountain side one mile long, and terminating ina beautiful curve, whence the best view of it is to be had. -aM. There it stretches, a gigantic gallery overlooking a sheerprecipice of 100 feet above the river, and showing alongits narrow edge enormous natural abutments of seamedand riven rock, as though they were placed to support thefearful pathway traversed by the heavy train.
