After coffee and cigars routine business was at- tended to in short order, following which Chairman Walter D Mansfield addressed the company on the congenial topic of fly-casting, his remarks being a general resume of fly- caBling work, dry fly-casting coming in for a very unique and intelligent description. The speaker also showed tbe im- portance of practice in an event that has not been closely followed up heretofore, viz: bait or lure casting, especially as black and striped bass fishing is blading many devotee? among the anglers. Fish Commissioner A. T. Vogelsang briefly and pleasantly explained to the gentlemen present the work done by the California Commission during the past year on the Truckee and also divulged some contemplated improvements to be carried out shortly on that stream. Dr. Yon Hoffman, who is an ardent sportsman, related some angling experiences. What the members told each other confidentially from time to time is another story and would have to be printed with specially made type to stand the strain. Among tnose present were: E. T. Allen, W.
