Families exploring trail at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument New Mexico - USA
This shot was taken at F16, Sp 320 and ISO 1000 with my Nikon D7100 camera on a Manfrotto tripod and Really Right Stuff ball head and remote shutter release. My 85 year old sister and I were hiking the slot canyon trail at Kasha-Katuwe National Monument and had run into a family from California that was also visiting the area. They welcomed us to take pictures of them and us together and they took pictures of us with them also. They had gotten their little girl to climb up on a boulder and the husband was taking a picture of his family. The wife then got my sister and I to be in their picture also. We kind of leap frogged this nice family almost all the way up the trail. The husband went to the top of the mesa to get pictures, but the mother and little girl waited a ways down from the top as trail gets a bit dicey in the steep parts. In this shot the family was preparing for a picture just as my sister had caught up to them.
