The Ancient Buddhist Pagodas of Bagan, Myanmar
Bagan was the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Pagan, a precursor to what would become modern-day Myanmar. The 26 square mile area is home to over 2,000 pagodas and temples, many of them built from the 11th to 13th centuries.
