Stoutpersons especially should be circumcised at any periodof life, if they would retain their virility and manlyvigor to a good age. CHAPTER XII. DISEASES OF THE PROSTATE GLAND—PROSTATORRHCEA,ETC., ETC. The prostate is a gland peculiar to the male, andencircles the neck of the bladder and the first portionof the urethra, which portion is therefore termed theprostatic urethra. In shape and size it resembles alarge chestnut, with the pointed portion directed awayfrom the bladder. It can easily be felt through therectum. AMPULLA BLADDER.
