DEFRA officials arrive to remove SHAMBO sacred bull from Skanda Vale Temple after it had tested positive for bovine tuberculosis

SHAMBO was a black Friesian sacred bull at the Hindu Skanda Vale Temple and community in rural Carmarthenshire. After testing positive for bovine tuberculosis DEFRA ordered that SHAMBO should be sent for slaughter. The images show the day when a peaceful sit down protest by monks and visitors tried and failed to prevent SHAMBO being removed and killed.
