The bolster is sup-ported upon links which are hung from the transom bars. Buffersprings are provided to prevent excessive movement of the bolsterwhich is secured between angle transom bars sufficiently strong .oprevent them becoming bent or warped. The transom bars aresecured to the side frames, by a strong ribbed casting, secured inplace, upon the side frame, by machined bolts, driven in reamed PROSPERITY OF THE TWIN CITY CAR BARN AT MONROE. holes, to insure perfect fit. The transom castings are of and so constructed as to distribute the weight of the bolsterevenly upon the side frames. The brake rigging used is an improved type, with the shoesbearing upon the inside of the wheels so that no rods have removed when taking out the wheels. The brake shoe linkhangers are designed to prevent the chattering of brake shoes amiare made in one piece with an adjustable clip so that the wea-can be taken up. The release springs are connected to the topof the live lever so that they require no adjustment when shoesarc adjusted, and they cannot cause the shoes to drag on thewheels. The shoes can be easily adjusted without placing the carover a pit, which is sometimes necessary on long suburban lines. Extra strong construction throughout is used and all partsare well fitted; all rivets are driven hot under a pressure of 30tons by pneumatic process. Compared with its carr
