A KC-130J Hercules with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 252 (VMGR-252) releases the fueling pod during a high altitude aerial refueling exercise at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, Feb. 3, 2021. Aircraft assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 (HMH-464) were refueled by a KC-130J, which offers a 60,000 pound fuel capacity that it can allocate between its own offload capacity using its wing and external tanks while in the air. HMH-464 is a subordinate unit of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, which is the aviation combat element of II Marine Expeditionary Force.
