The link is bolted to a pairof light brackets, so arranged as to constitute a is carried on two pair of rollers, one pair beinglocated at each end. The rollers traverse a set of guideswhich are supported at the center, about which they maybe rotated within narrow limits, and are adjustable atthe outer ends by micrometer screws. These guides arecarried upon a super bed-plate, which in turn is arrangedto slide transversely on guides which are cast to the November, 1904. RAILWAY MASTER MECHANIC 465. Link Radius Grinding Machine. principal bed-plate. Transverse motion is given theretoby a crank handle and horizontal feed screw. The holes in the link brackets through which the linkis bolted, are made oblong in order to fit the severalsizes of links in service on the different classes of loco-motives. When the link has been placed in position theroller guides are adjusted by the micrometer screws toobtain the exact radius desired for the link. The supertable is then moved transversely to such position thatthe emery wheel engages the surface of the link. Thelink bracket is then moved back and forth by hand, roll-
