Sidmouth, Devon, UK. 7th January, 2015. Storm damage repairs to Sidmouth Beach ground to a halt today (Weds 7th Jan) when the track came off a JCB being used to move shingle along the shoreline. Storms over recent years have shifted large amounts of the protective shingle from the shoreline, exposing the cliff face which is now eroding at the rate of 1 metre a year, which is now endangering clifftop properties. East Devon District Council secured £100,000 funding from the Environment Agency to commence repairs. Credit: Tony Charnock/Alamy Live News
