Chinese Moon Moth (Actias heterogyna subaurea) and (Actias sinensis) as a synonym. Detail of hindwings, tails and eyespots of a freshly hatched male. It is often considered that the eyespots and tails of moon moths simulate a large bird head and beak. This species exhibits a marked sexual dimorphism. Males are yellow, females are pale green and much larger. Native to China, Laos, Viet Nam.
