A Variable Squirrel (Callosciurus finlaysonii) drinking from a pool in the forest in North Eastern Thailand


The Variable Squirrel (Callosciurus finlaysonii) or Finlayson's Squirrel is a species of rodent in the family Sciuridae. The species occurs in a wide range of wooded habitats, including gardens and parks in cities like Bangkok. There are currently 16 recognised subspecies and they vary greatly in appearance. It is found in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
