Basilica and Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor de los Reales Alcázares. It is the main church of the city of Úbeda, and third in the Jaén diocese. The church stands on archaeological ground from the Bronze Age, a sacred place since time immemorial, and built on the remains of the main mosque, after the conquest of the city in 1233 by Ferdinand III the Saint. In this church, the flowery Gothic base of its construction is built on Neolithic, Iberian, Roman, and Goth archaeological remains and is enriched with Muslim, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassical elements, etc. It is part of the Renaissance monumental complex of the city, which together with that of Baeza, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003.
