Ham had gotten several Bodies, I under-stand, and had been made a Captain. We continue flying, when weather permits, and I am glad that I changedover from Nieuports to the de Haviland machines. HERBERT FRANKLIN COMSTOCK Second Lieutenant, , Son of John Moore and Persis (Dearborn) Comstock; was born atChelsea, Vt., Feb. 12, 1893. He was educated at the Chelsea, Vt.,High School; Manual Training High School, New Haven, Conn.;Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, ; and at Dartmouth Col-lege, one year, class of 1915. He took part in track athletics, andplayed baseball and basket-ball. He enlisted in the Air Service in Aug., 1917, at Sandusky,Ohio. He trained at the Ground School, and sailed over-seas in Nov., 1917. He spent the following winter in camp at ; training being hindered by lack of planes. In the springand summer of 1918 he completed his training at Chateauroux,and Issoudun. He was commissioned 2d Lieut, on May 18, a month he was assigned to motor transport service; and heserved for some time as Instructor at the Issoudun training so engaged he met
