This feems to be a rare bird in this country, andowes its name, with us, to the accident of a pair offhem having been feen near Dartford, in Kent, a £04 BRITISH BIRDS, few years ago ; they have fince been obferved mgreater numbers, and are fuppofed fometimes towinter with us. Buffon fays they are natives ofProvence, where they frequent gardens, and feed,on flies and fraall infers.
