A Neolithic spiral carved stone (clockwise, 7 loops with 2 mini cupmarks), kept in St Peter's Church, Llanbedr, Gwynedd, Wales, UK.

A Neolithic stone pecked with a clockwise spiral of seven gradually widening loops & two miniature cupmarks (upper R), kept in St Peter's Church, Llanbedr, Gwynedd, Wales, UK. The stone was found in the 1850s, on the hills above Dyffryn Ardudwy, & brought down to Llanbedr to save it from being broken up for drystone walling. It was described as lying among the debris of "primitive buildings" which may have been a Neolithic or Early Bronze Age burial chamber. It was placed for a while between the two Meini Hirion standing stones W of St Peter's, & then against the W wall of the church when a lightly pecked carving of a fish-shape may have been added to Christianise the pagan stone. The stone of andesite granite is weathered & damaged.
