An important presentation sabre supplied to the imperial Russian court Zlatoust, circa 1816/1820. Ascribed to Master Wilhelm Nikolaus Schaaf. High-quality, curved and fullered single-edged blade with yelmen. On the back of the blade the etched and gilt Cyrillic maker´s inscription "Zlatoust" and floral decoration. Blued and profusely etched on both sides. The lower half of blade etched with oak and laurel leaves on damascened ground.
