A Flamenco dress shop in Cordoba in Andalusia, southern Spain. The Flamenco dress worn by women, is a traditional Spanish dress with body-hugging to mid-thigh, and then continues in multiple layers of ruffles to the ankle. The dress is also called a traje de flamenca or traje de gitana, worn in certain parts of Spain, particularly in Andalusia where Flamenco dancing is a very popular tourist attraction, mainly performed in clubs and unprompted dance performances in the streets. The dance derives from the traditional gipsy/ Roma culture, and music is accompanied by strumming guitars, handclapping with rapid foot tap movements creating a strong rhythmical musical beat. The dress is worn at social gatherings too.
