L Kendall E. West was born April H, 1851, in WhiteCounty, Ind. When but twelve jears of ageihe wasconverted and united with the Rock Creek ValleyChristian Church. In 1876 he united with the North-western Indian Christian Conference, and the follow-ing year was ordained. April 24,1873, he married MissLouisa Herr. She died April 8,1876. June 26,1884, hemarried for a second wife Miss Mellie his ministry. Elder West received to fellow-ship about 750 members, the larger portion beingconverts of his work. He organized four churchesand built, while pastor, six houses of worship, excel*lent monuments to a ministers name. Brother Westwas a most useful minister, and was deeply and rev-erently loved. He was in the prime of manhood, andmany years of service were confidently expected fromhim. He was subject to heart trouble, and from thiscause death came. A half hour before his death,which occurred at his home in Kokomo, Ind., June
