Although but a drummer boy. he was ordered by General Kaneat the battle of Chancellorsville to take the drummers, pack mulesand cooks to the rear ; he disobeved the order and went into thefight, and was afterwards ])resented with a drum majors swordfor l)raverv, with the inscription, Drummer Poy of Chancellors-ville. The twenty-second annual reunion of the survivors of the 124th(marking- the forty-fourth anniversary of the Battle of Antietam)was held at Lenape Park, a few miles from \\est Chester. of the regiment and friends, numbering more than 200,were transported from the West Chester Station to and fromthe park by electric cars. The Boys Band, of 35 pieces, of GlenMills School, in charge of Prof. P. P. Brown, was in attendance. The roster of the veterans present follows: Staff—Chaplain, Rev. Joseph S.
