Lady Clerk: (Joy-killer) They sure arepretty, but I dont know how anyone couldsmell them when they are artificial!. The late Charles H. Gomm, assistant generalfreight agent, Cincinnati, Ohio Lloyd Sullivan has joined the GeneralFreight Office clerical force as stenographer,and J. W. Patterson has accepted a similarposition in the Tariff Bureau. Charles H. Gomm was born in Chicago,111., January 17, 1879. His first railroad experience was as steno-grapher with Chicago & NorthwesternRailway, Chicago, III., in 1897. In 1899 heaccepted a similar position with Q. & , and was subsequently promoted tosoliciting freight agent of that line atChicago, and commercial agent at Dallas,Texas. In 1910 he entered service of Chicago,Hamilton & Dayton at Chicago as commer-cial agent, which position he held untilOctober i, 1916, when he was made divisionfreight agent Baltimore and Ohio Railroad,Springfield. He was promoted to assistantgeneral freight agent, Cincinnati, March i,1920. He was unable to continue his dutiesin this position when illness overtook himon Januarj^ 29, 1921. He died at his hom
