It is to be obferved, that where fingle Flats are onlymarkd, that thofe Flats or Sharps denote that you are toplay Flat or Sharp Thirds ; and that where nothing ismarkd, then Common-Concords are to be playd, &c.—Al-fo where ^ths, yths, &c. which are Difcords, are onlymarkd, they are only fet to introduce other Common-Con-cords to follow ; that is, fuch as lie next -, or the nearefl:Interval to follow, as the Rules of Compofttion will admit. Obferve, that in the Diatonick-Scale, B, E, and A, areSharp Notes \ and that F, C, and G, are Flat Notes ; andthat all Sharp Notes naturally require Flat $ds ; and allFlat Notes require Sharp %ds.—Alio, when the Bafs rifesa Fourth, or falls a Fifth, to make a Clofe, a 6th is thengenerally left out.
