Alan R. Sanders, US psychiatric geneticist, using a multi-pipette injector while carrying out research. Sanders is working in his genetics laboratory at the NorthShore Research Institute, Chicago, USA, where he is Director of the Behavior Genetics Unit. Research carried out here includes studies of genetic factors in major psychiatric disorders and behavioural traits. Studies carried out by Bailey include research on the Xq28 gene and sexual orientation, as well as studies on genetic links for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric conditions.
