Blue sky clouds late afternoon sun view, towards American Indian sign 'Wyoming Motel', West Lincolnway, Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA

Cheyenne, named after the Cheyenne Indian Nation, one of the most famous and prominent Great Plains tribes, was founded in 1867 at a crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad at Crow Creek, a tributary of the South Platte River. The Union Pacific Railroad reached Cheyenne on 13 November 1867, when the town's population was 4000. The 'Wyoming Motel' is near the Union Pacific Railroad, which runs parallel with West Lincolnway, towards the centre of Cheyenne in the background of the view. A late afternoon sunshine view, looking east.
