Joan of Arc's Signature and Text


This letter was written at Reims, France, to the Duke of Burgoyne on the day Charles VII was crowned king of France (July 17, 1429). It is now housed in the Archives in Lille. The signature is Joan of Arc's. The words are hers, but written by someone for her. In the letter, Joan urges the duke to make his peace with the king.
