Kırkpınar (Turkish Oil Wrestling). Young wrestlers wait for the beginning of the opening ceremony on the stadium during the 648th Kırkpınar Tournament in Edirne, Turkey, on 3 July 2009. Kırkpınar wrestlers compete stripped to the waist and smeared their bodies with olive oil. About one thousand wrestlers from across the country, the winners of regional competitions, attend the three-day tournament every year.
