The city of Acari, located 212 Km from Natal, is recognized as the cleanest city in Brazil, lies in the middle of the mountains with a natural vegetation of Caatinga Hiper-xerófila. Accidentally its relative excellent because its semi-arid climate helps preserve its various archeological sites The place is perfect for engaging in adventure sports such as trekking, mountaineering (rock climbing) and hang gliding, also, the reservoir Galgalheiras is one of the largest in the Northeast, offering excellent conditions for observation of wildlife utilizing canoes (or kayaks). Moreover not only adventure brings the visitor to this beautiful city, other attractions are its churches, ranch homes dating from the 19th century from the Cotton Era and the museum of the Sertanejo which shows perfectly the life and customs of humans that adapted to the life of the semi-árid nordestino. 30 km after Acarí we find the small city of Carnaúba dos Dantas, where there are more than 80 archeological sites cataloged by the Department of Archeology Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. Among these, we can visit the site Xique-Xique I with its ease of access and proximity to the city; and Casa Santa, the second major site in South America for Indian paintings.
