An infrared image taken from the corner of the front garden of Balmoral Castle which is the Scottish summer residence of HRH Queen Elizabeth and her family. The Royal family reside here from August each summer. The Castle grounds are open to the public in the months prior to the Royal family arriving on the estate. Infrared film and digital photography captures the near infrared light which is beyond the visibility of the human eye. The result is a surreal looking image with a ghostly appearance. Sky and water absorb infrared light while plants and shrubbery reflect the light.
