Hence, Burpee's Farm Annual tells the plain truth about seeds. There is no " short cut to ; The steady growth of our business is the result of constant industry, with the determined purpose that BURPEE'S SEEDS should be recognized as the Standard of Excellence. Our friends have helped with kind words of recommendation to extend the fame of BURPEE'S SEEDS,— until now they are supplied each season direct to more planters than are the seeds of any other growers. The past few years have been unprofitable alike to the farmer, gardener, and seedsman. Therefore we have condensed our Catalogue, by transferring specialties to the general lists and using pink paper pages only for the Novelties of 1897. The edition is so large that by thus reducing cost of postage, printing, and distribution, we save more than twenty thousand dollars, and are able to offer Special LOW PRICES for J 897. We have reduced seeds in bulk x to the lowest prices possible. We now give twenty-five cents' worth of seeds extra, in ounces as well as packets, for each one dollar,—see page 3. We sell only the BEST SEEDS that Grow, as warranted on page 144. Better seeds cannot be had at any price, while nowhere High=Grade TESTED SEEDS of equal quality can be bought for less money.
