The duration ofinduction is about ten minutes, but weakly persons go undermore rapidly, while vigorous muscular individuals often requirelonger time for the induction. Nervous people by holding their breath and taking veryshallow respirations can delay induction. This is usually dueto an unwise pushing of the anaesthetic in the initial stageand is corrected by lessening the rate of dropping and bypushing forward the mandible as soon as an inspiration hascommenced, and so deepening and prolonging th
