Blood vessels of a healthy mouse brain, optical projection tomography (OPT). OPT is an imaging technique used to obtain three-dimensional images of large biological samples (meaning samples up to one cubic centimetre in size). The main advantage of this technique is that it eliminates the need to cut the sample into sections. Prior to imaging resin was injected into the blood vessels to create a cast.
