Brackett, of Newton, Mass., the origi- nator, wrote us that the variety had been put out before it was thoroughly established, and offered to supply us with his own extra selected stock seed; this we purchased and have continued the selection for three years past, until now we have it so well established that it is worthy of intro- duction under the name of Improved Euby. It is entirely distinct from other varieties by reason of the stalks and husks, which are of a very handsome dark red color, giving it an odd and beautiful appearance in growth ; the stalks grow from six to seven feet high and ^â bear from two to three good ears. /\ A D\ The ears are of large size, com- \\nD) pletely filled with large, pure white grains, closely packed on the red cob. The corn is of the most delicious flavor, and so extremely sweet that it is most palatable, even to eat raw in the field ; it matures a little earlier than the Stowell's Evergreen. Its superb quality and large handsome appearance cannot fail to make it a most desirable sort both for the market and family garden.
