But this is ofno consequence, excej>t as it shows the incorrectness of 1 can discharge my duty acceptably to Him, what others maysay or think is of little mcinent. Some officers go so far as to saythat the stubborn fight made by the Twenty-first in the fog andobscurity of the woods saved the entire corps from destruction onthat morning.
