Edna Miller Gilley was born in the Fleetwood community ofAshe County on August 10, 1921 to Sewell Phillip Miller andDora Alice Long Miller. She accepted Christ as her Savior w henshe was a young girl and was a member of Libery Grove BaptistChurch through her youth. She married Reverend Will Gilley on December 21, 1940 andthey served God together until God called him horn on Septem-ber 7, 1986. They have five children: Joyce, Jim, Jerry, David,and Donnie. Edna was a faithful member of North Beaver Baptist ( hurchfrom November 1939 until God called her home on January 20,1999. She enjoyed writing poems of the love that God has for hischildren and her desire to see her Jesus who gave his life for heron the cross of Calvary.
