Here, Admiral Jellicoe, the Commander-in-Chief of the Grand Fleet, bids farewell to him and his party prior to their embarkation on the doomed ship. Lord Kitchener, in a military overcoat, is facing Admiral Jellicoe, who is shaking hands with Mr. O'Beirne, of the Foreign Office. Fitzgerald, on the gangway, was Lord Kitchener's personal military secretary.
