Fractured arm surgery. Image 3 of 10. Close-up of one of the ends of an unhealed fracture in a patient's humerus (arm bone). Originally, a pin was inserted to stabilise the bone and allow it to heal in the correct position after being fractured in a motorcycle accident. However, the ends of the fracture did not reunite properly, so the pin is being removed along with the ends of the fracture, which will be replaced by a bone graft from the patient's pelvis.
