This is an image from one of my favorite vantages of the National Mall. From a hill between the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, I, together with dozens of other photographers, shot the nearly full moon rising behind Washington, DC, on March 12, 2017. March's full moon, also known as the Worm Moon, did not disappoint. I am always in awe when seeing these menacing, redish full moons rise above the horizon. Happy I was able to get out for this one on a clear night!
