Aerial photograph of Johan-Petersen-Fjord, Greenland. Ice tongues from the Greenlandic ice mass creep into the water of Johan-Petersen-Fjord at the Ea

Aerial photograph of Johan-Petersen-Fjord, Greenland. Ice tongues from the Greenlandic ice mass creep into the water of Johan-Petersen-Fjord at the East Greenland coast near the Polar Circle. Many chunks of ice fall off the glacier front and float in the water of the fjord in the short summer. The glacier tongues are retreating because of global warming.
