Barrick (of H and G Barrick's shipyard, Whitby, Yorkshire, UK. - (Technical Information - COLUMBUS, specially built emigrant ship of 467 tons, built by George Barrick, Whitby in 1832. Sailed from Whitby April 16th 1832 for Quebec with 245 passengers, Capt. H. Barrick.). Though the journey was recorded as a good one, many people suffered seasickness and three children died on route. A group of religious passengers prayed daily to the mockery and bad language of others
