The festival started in 1969 to raise funds for a new Church roof and since then has raised over £ for local charities. This year the major funds raised will go to The East Anglia Childrens Hospice (EACH) in addition to the funds that are allocated annually to charitable organisations within the Parish. The festival started in 1969 to raise funds for a new Church roof and since then has raised over £ for local charities. This year the major funds raised will go to The East Anglia Childrens Hospice (EACH) in addition to the funds that are allocated annually to charitable organisations within the The charity supports families and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Over the weekend no cars are allowed into the village, visitors are encouraged to meander around Thriplow and the surrounding lanes, stopping to sample cream teas and visit local craft stalls.
