Diwali, "the festival of lights", celebrates the triumphant victory of good over evil, light over darkness and hope over despair. Cultural performances, including music and dance, plus stalls, displays and food formed the event known as "Diwali on Trafalgar Square" and was brought to the public by the Mayor of London and many unique organisations which form the Diwali in London committee. Here, Anoushka Shankar, one of the world's foremost classical sitarists and daughter of Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar, performs as the final act on the Diwali programme.
