The transfer tables serve all the depart-ments except the wood-working shop, which is separatedfrom the group and is served by a transfer table andpit occupying the aisle between it and the erecting 228-ft. pit with a 25-ton transfer table is also pro-vided at one end of the truck shop for convenience inrouting work. The shop buildings are separated transversely by thestore house and boiler house into two groups. Thetruck, motor and blacksmith shops compose the group. CLEVELAND SHOPS—GENERAL VIEW OF SHOP BUILDINGS AND TRACK FACILITIES is accessible to the street railway by way of several ofthe companys lines, the distance to the business dis-trict of the city being 4 miles. One end of the propertyadjoins the right-of-way of the Newburgh & South ShoreRailroad, a direct steam-road connection to the Cleve-land belt, which in turn handles the transfer freightbusiness between all the steam trunk lines enteringCleveland. A track connection has been made with thisline, thereby permitting the delivery of materials andequipment direct to the shops. Excepting for a single track at the extreme south endof the property, and two at the north end, all shoptracks, of which there are thirty-five on one side andthirty-six on the other, are intersected by the maintransfer table pit. This pit will be occupied by twotransfer tables, one of 25-ton capacity for handlingstreet railway equipment, and another of 75-ton capac-ity for shifting c
