Clashes erupted between protesters and government forces in old town area of Sopore. Forces swung into action and fired teargas shells on protesters ensuing clashes in the area. However, the situation remained peaceful in Iqbal market, Main Bazar and other areas. Dozens of angry protesters shouted anti-India slogans and protests against the recently killing of Sajad Hussian.
