Tlie crossties are reinforced by Ixittom cover plate ,-2 in. by 8 in. is riveted to each set of dia-phragms, and large triangular gusset plates of J^4-in. steel con-nect the bolster with the side sill at the side nearest the endof the car. The end sill is made up of a ^-in.
