Bandurria - Theristicus caudatus
The southern bandurria has colors and shapes that characterize it. They can reach about 76 cm in length. The head and neck are yellow-ochraceous in color with a darker crown and nape. On the chest you can see a gray line that separates it from the neck. Sides of chest and abdomen black. Greyish brown back. Its legs are red to pink in color and its long curved bill gives it its distinctive character, adapted to its food. The young are similar to the adults, they are only differentiated by their buffy head and neck, their beak is greenish in color and their legs are an intense pink color. Between male and female there are no sexual differences in their body.
